Steve&Bucky (slash or gen) - Codependency

(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Was reading this amazing meta (http://ink-phoenix.tumblr.com/post/89685401507/do-you-think-erskine-would-have-chosen-bucky-if-steve) and needed it to be a prompt.

Being a 'good man' was a luxury afforded to him by Bucky, Steve knew.

Long before he became a sniper and Captain America's right hand, Bucky was doing Steve's dirty work. He wouldn't have gotten into nearly as many fights if it weren't for Steve. Steve would mouth off to the bullies and Bucky would step up to the guys who were twice Steve's size, and sometimes, twice Bucky's size. And if Bucky wasn't around when Steve started picking fights, the other boys of Brooklyn knew to go running for Barnes, because if they didn't and Bucky found out, he'd be after them next.

But Bucky relied as much on Steve, as Steve did on him. Because Steve was the center of his world and nothing else was as important. He couldn't give two shits about fighting the good fight. Steve was his moral compass - he fought for Steve and Steve fought for what was right.

As if turns out, that hasn't changed in seventy years. Bucky's still taking on guys twice his size because Steve said they were bad people and picked a fight with them.

Bucky - temporary anterograde amnesia

(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
He remembers that he was - is Bucky Barnes.

After a while, he remembers Steve and their childhood, he remembers the war, being rescued by him. He even remembers after he fell and was found by Hydra. He, unfortunately, remembers having his arm replaced and when they began conditioning and torturing him.

But after they started using the shocks, things go fuzzy, and then blank.

He doesn't remember ever being the Winter Soldier.

(Or: The continued electric-shocks and cryo-freezing caused brain damage, which kept Bucky from being able to form new memories, as well as remembering who he was. After escaping Hydra, the serum in his blood is finally able to heal the damage. But his time as the Soldier is nothing but a blank space, because those memories never existed in his mind.)

Gen, Bucky- Blowing His Cover, Pulling A Jean Valjean (Who Am I)

(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
After the events of The Winter Soldier, Bucky is on the lam for a while, and trying to make heads or tails of himself. He wonders if he can, if he should leave the little flickers of his old self behind, if that's what would be best for everyone. Maybe he even succeeds for a while, too.

But then something happens. To do a good thing, to keep someone from getting hurt or a situation from escalating, Bucky has to look someone in the eye and tell them that he's "Sergeant James Barnes, 32557."

Because he can't not do the right thing, even if it tears open the wound, even if it reveals him to the world.

Bucky/Steve, Post-TWS

(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Five times an anti-hero/redeemable-villain tried to make Steve their designated Romantic Love Interest™ , and the one time Bucky just fucking had enough of it.

BONUS POINTS if one of them is Deadpool.

this prompt is AMAZING and has potential for so much hilarity. esp. if deadpool's involved.

Vampire!Steve raises child thrall Bucky

(Anonymous) 2014-07-21 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Steve (for what ever reason you want) is a vampire. He has lived a long life,he has killed,he has tried to protect. The years however are lonely. He finds a baby/child Bucky and decides to raise him.

Bonus if Steve keeps Bucky addicted to his blood through out the years (all vampires are slightly mad after all)

Bonus Bonus if they become lovers when Bucky is older.

Can be as calm or as creepy as you want.

Fury/Pierce, backstory, doomed gay Cold War spies

(Anonymous) 2014-07-21 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Nick Fury and Alexander Pierce had a thing for a while in the seventies or eighties. Because Cap 2 was enough of a throwback to Cold War spy stories that it needs doomed spy boyfriends, and young Robert Redford was really pretty.

Dialogue prompt

(Anonymous) 2014-07-21 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You heard all that, didn't you?"

"Yes. ...You said I'm broken."

"I did, yeah, but not the way I think that you think I meant."

"What way do I think you meant?"

"Broken, like a glass that shatters when you drop it on the floor, and some of the pieces disappear under the stove or the fridge and you can't glue it back together."

"What other way is there to be broken?"

"I meant, broken like a bone. Fractured. But nothing that can't be healed with a good support brace and some time. Maybe you'll need some doctors, some medicine. Maybe you'll need to use a crutch for a while. It's painful and awkward and the simplest things became a chore and you have to relearn how to go through daily life, but it's nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about. Everybody breaks a bone at least once in their life. Yours is just harder to heal because it's been broken for seventy years."

Bucky/Steve; Other/Bucky; prostitution by necessity

(Anonymous) 2014-07-21 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Pre-war, Steve's sick, medicine's expensive, and Bucky's lost his job. Like hell he's going to let Steve go hungry for his screw-up, though, so he puts himself on next-to-nothing rations until he finds work again. Not surprisingly, he doesn't tell Steve.

It gets bad enough that, when he gets the offer, he's plenty willing to suck a guy off in exchange for a decent meal.

After, when the guy takes him to a cheap diner, Bucky's super enthusiastic, because FOOD. He makes himself reign it in so that he can save half to bring home for Steve, though.

Whether Steve ever finds out is up to anon.

TL;DR: Hard times and prioritizing Steve above himself leads to Bucky selling himself for food.

Steve/Bucky - Publically getting into a relationship

(Anonymous) 2014-07-21 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok my whole prompt is that Bucky and Steve are at a public event, with lot of people around quietly discussing and for some reason Bucky tells Steve that it's impossible not to fall in love with him when you really know him.

It's clear by the way he says it that Bucky has fallen in love with Steve and completely believes that anyone knowing Steve like he does would to.

Steve is so touched it actually hurt a little, he warns Bucky that he really want him to kiss him right now and when Bucky answers "then do it", Steve does.

They might have forgotten that there is a lot of people (and press ?) around them ...

Pls give me both the getting together and the press/media/people/Avengers reaction

(they weren't together before this to be clear)

Humans-Have-Quadrants AU: Steve and Bucky are legendary moirails. Something featuring the progress of their relationship over time - preserum to the war to post-Winter Soldier - would be great, but I'm happy to see anything with these two dorks being unspeakably pale for each other.

Steve/Bucky catching up through musicals

(Anonymous) 2014-07-22 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Somehow, Steve ends up catching up on the times with musicals.

From "Carmen Jones" to "West Side Story", from "Haispray" to "Godspell", from "Rent!" to "Kinky Boots", everything he's missed seems to be there.

Later on, he takes Bucky to all of them, and laughs and cries and sometimes sings along, and to Bucky, it's fucking beautiful.

tl;dr: Steve likes musicals, all the musicals :3

Steve/Bucky - Steve wants to go back to being skinny!Steve

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a lot of fics where Steve is changed back to his Pre-Serum self by accident.

I'd like a fic where it's actually deliberate : Steve ask to be changed back because he doesn't want to be Captain America anymore. And the change is permanent.

Stuff that should be in the fic :

-This doesn't happen more than 5 years after CATWS. Steve should be barely 30 years old.

-Steve must have thought about it for a long time, it's not a spur of the moment decision. And obviously there should be some backlash, from the public but also from some of the Avengers.

-And I don't believe that depowered!Steve would stop doing what is right just because he's not Captain America anymore. He would still be a hero but in different ways.

-Nat, Sam, Peggy and Bucky all support Steve in his choice (even if they don't all completely get it).

-Steve officially pass the mantle (of being Captain America) to Sam.

Bucky/Steve marriage of convenience

(Anonymous) 2014-07-26 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Could be modern au or post TWS:

Bucky demands he and Steve get married so they can't keep Bucky from seeing Steve in the hospital whenever his idiot self lands in there. Steve agrees because it makes sense, they already live together, there are good benefits etc

Then they both realize how much they actually like being married to each other of course.

Steve/Bucky (or Steve and Bucky), inspired by this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EwBNm1Uhs0 ("You Told The Drunks I Knew Karate" by Zoey Van Goey)
Does *not* have to be an actual songfic or have direct quotes from the lyrics.
Pre-serum/pre-war era awesome but not required.

Steve/Bucky ageplay kind of?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-28 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
They've been attracted to each other since they were teenagers, but both hid it from each other until way post-WS. They're now in an established romantic and sexual relationship. One day they are reminiscing about all the wasted time, and wonder what it would've been like had they gotten together for the first time back then. They discuss it ahead of time, and then enact it. It's really dorky. Dorky and sexy.

Re: Steve/Bucky ageplay kind of?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-28 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
OP again, to elaborate: I think the main thing is them pretending that Steve is still small and frail, and that it's their first time together. And maybe dressing like they did in the 30s. Maybe going on a date that's like somewhere they would've gone back then (like there's still a pretty active swing dance scene in New York today...)

Steve/anyone, 40s sex

(Anonymous) 2014-07-30 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
So while some people had kinky escapades even in the 40s, some grew up with a more.... basic view on things. It's not that easy to shake. And maybe not everybody wants to.
Basically, I just want a cute "Ok, we saved the world again, now lets go home, wait until it's dark and have cuddly missionary sex under the blankets"-fic.

Hydra goons/Winter Soldier; treating arousal as mechanical malfunction

(Anonymous) 2014-07-31 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
The asset has an erection and doesn't know why. As instructed, he goes in for maintenance when something is wrong, and the Hydra mechanics take advantage.

Bonus for basing it on this snippet of instruction on how to check for leaks. With the leak here, of course, being precum.

"Finding leaks can sometimes be a very difficult task... The following tips will help:

-Identify the kind of fluid that is leaking.
-Locate the general area the drips are coming from.
-If the leak is not obvious, clean the suspected area and recheck.
-An inspection mirror can help in hard to reach areas.

If you still cannot find the leak, try a powder, like foot powder. Apply the powder in the general area of the leak. You should be able to trace the [fluid] trail over the white powder."

Non-Critical Malfunction (1/?)

(Anonymous) 2014-08-30 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The asset sits on a bench of brushed steel, one more piece of malfunctioning equipment in a long line of them.

To his left is a rotary actuator; to his right, a disassembled prototype rifle. The asset is marked with the same tag as each of them, a square of paper with clipped corners, attached with a length of black wire. "Deficiency report," the tag reads, and notes a priority level: mission capable, non-critical malfunction.

The asset waits as a mechanic in grey coveralls wanders into the room. The man's hair is dark and unkempt; his face is shaded with two days' growth of beard. The tag on his pocket reads "Graves," and he spares the asset a lingering glance as he retrieves the rifle – priority: non-mission capable, safety and design deficiencies. The man checks his tag, then passes him over for equipment farther down the line.

The gun goes before him; a small robot; a miniature helicopter with cloaking capabilities. By the time the man circles back around to approach, screwdriver in one hand, the asset's legs have begun to cramp from waiting so long in one position. The clock on the wall shows that five hours have passed.

Graves examines the tag again, and he lifts the asset's left arm to peer closely at the metal plating. "What's the problem?" he asks.

"An abnormality in the pelvic region," the asset replies – and then quirks an eyebrow, lowers the arm back to rest against the asset's side.

"Come on," Graves says. "I'm gonna need more than that." He flicks his finger against the tag, accusatory. "Some asshole didn't finish your paperwork."

"Periodic sensitivity and swelling," the asset elaborates, and does not look at the man's face. "At the juncture between the legs."

There is silence.

It stretches so long that the asset lifts his eyes, wary, to gauge the man's expression. Graves' eyes are wide, mouth slightly ajar. "You're shitting me," he tells the asset. "Right?"

The asset does not reply. Spending time in frivolous pursuits is not allowed. To take the time of a professional beyond necessary maintenance would garner the appropriate punishment. Surely the mechanic knows this already.

"You're not," the man says, at last, when the asset offers no reply. "Holy shit." And then he tips his head back and he laughs. He laughs until he's gasping for breath, until the asset's face has grown unaccountably warm.

"Okay," says Graves, when he manages to slow at last. He wipes at his eyes with the side of one hand, where his laughter has caused small beads of moisture to form. "Okay. Let's see the problem area."

The mechanic's grin is wide and crooked, and the asset is very aware of his stare as he slides from the table to stand. The swelling has abated during the wait, but it returns now, sharp and sudden, as soon as his own fingers touch the buckles on his combat gear. By the time he has them undone, the flesh between his legs has thickened to a noticeable protrusion, bringing with it a low, persistent ache.

The asset slides his combat gear down over his hips to display the swollen flesh, but Graves says, "Keep going," so he unlaces his boots and steps out of them, removes his pants and folds them to set on the workbench. Between his legs, the abnormality twitches and then falls still.

"Is the condition recurring?" Graves asks, serious tone belied by the way his eyes glimmer. The man seems on the verge of laughter again, but the asset does not know why. One of the man's thick hands reaches out to examine the afflicted area.

The asset gasps. The protrusion is tender, and contact with the man's fingers makes him lurch into the touch, uncharacteristically clumsy.

"Keep still," Graves admonishes, and it takes the asset a moment longer than usual to comply – longer still to recall that he's been asked a question. Such lapses are not tolerated, the asset reminds himself forcefully. "It occurs periodically," he manages. It takes effort to form the words.

The asset could supply more information.

He could tell the man that it occurs most frequently in the morning, when he wakes from images of blonde hair and hands that do not hurt. He could explain that is has grown worse with every passing day since the mission delay first landed them in this facility – that finally, yesterday, when three of his strike team returned from a workout stripped to the waist, it persisted for nearly two hours. He could admit that this morning had been the worst of all – waking on his thin floor pallet soaked in sweat, heartbeat hard in his throat and a name he didn’t remember caught at the back of his mouth.

The asset could say these things, but he does not. He is wiped clean, but his handlers allow him to keep some things: his training, his lessons, the consequences. He knows what will come if he displays too much awareness.

And so the asset keeps his mouth closed as Graves touches him lightly, searching for the malfunction's cause. The asset cannot recall a touch like this one – not ever. The heat in his swollen flesh is compounded by something greater, some unidentifiable lack bound up in those nightly images of a man he does not know.

Graves makes a thorough examination. He uses the very tips of his fingers to search the place where the swollen flesh connects to the rest of the asset's body, and he traces every millimeter of the abnormality, not once but many times. The asset digs short, blunt nails into the palm of his right hand and forces himself to remain in place.

"I'll need to take some measurements," Graves tells him – and, inspection concluded, at last removes his hand.

The asset cannot contain the gasp that leaves him. He keeps his hips in place by only the narrowest of margins.
