Logan can't remember anything about Steve, but his scent is familiar.

[fill] Wolverine/Steve, amnesia

(Anonymous) 2014-03-12 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I started this a few weeks ago, but then wasn't sure this was really what you wanted. Now I finished it and hope you like it!

”Since our couragious leader's still beating out some frustrations, it's apparently my job to show you around. Which is fitting, I guess, since it's, you know, my place.”

Logan glanced at the Stark kid. ”Just because I'm on a loan to your little team, doesn't mean I'm gonna live here at your frat house.”

Without looking Logan knew Stark was making a face at him.

”You might change your mind when you see the digs, or shoud I say, the mini bar. But anyway, on we go, since we don't want you to get lost in an emergency, do we?”

Logan followed Stark around, thinking mostly about looting the booze Stark mentioned on his way out when something caught his nose.

Male sweat tangled with something really familiar.

”Here we are, at the communal gym. We can go meet Cap. He's been in a snit about something and basically living here for the past day. He'll be really embarrassed to have forgotten you were coming today, though, and that should be entertaining.”

Captain America. Logan wasn't exactly sure what his thoughts were about the thawed out supersoldier. He hoped he wasn't such a clean cut boy scout as his reputation would make you believe since Logan was going to have to take orders from him.

Stark opened the gym door and the scent he'd noticed just got stronger. The place was inhabited only by the leader of the Avengers, so the scent had to come from him.

The supersoldier was hitting a bag with such intensity he didn't notice the two of them coming in. Logan saw Stark get an amused look to his face.

”If I wasn't such a handsome genious, I'd develop serious self-esteem issues.”

Logan didn't acknowledge what Stark said aloud, but could admit to himself the man had a point. Captain America was ridiculously attractive for a man.

”Cap, we've got a guest!”

The pummeling of the bag stopped abruptly. Blondie took several breaths before he turned around to them.

”Cap, Wolverine, Wolverine, Cap. Now – ”

Stark fell silent as color drained from the Captain's face. Seemed like there was a reason why the man smelled so familiar.

”You know each other?” Stark broke the short silence that had followed Cap's choked up exclamation.

”No,” Logan said at the same time Cap stuttered a yes. That obviously wasn't the right thing to say if the bewildered and hurt look on his new team leader's face was anything to go by. Too bad, Logan thought, because he wasn't going to get mixed up with a past he didn't remember.

Cap took a halting step towards them. ”Don't you – don't you remember me?”

”No,” he grunted. Better make it clear from the start that he wasn't someone to reminecense with about the days gone by.

But hell if the look on the man's face wasn't awful. ”Logan,” he tried again. ”I'm Steve. Steve Rogers. Although I guess you mostly called me 'kid'.”

Logan snorted. ”Everybody's a kid to me.” He saw Rogers's face start to close off, finally understanding that Logan wasn't who he thought he was.

Suddenly he wasn't sure if acknowledging some connection between them would be the end of the world. Logan knew the Captain's story. He supposed it might be considered a bit cruel to deny the guy a link to the past, no matter how bad the link.

He sighed. ”I don't remember you. I don't remember anything from before the 1980's, so don't take it personally. I do remember your smell, though, so I guess we did know each other.”

”You remember his smell?”

”Uh. We – uh, we met in London, during the war,” Rogers said and was that a blush? Logan wasn't sure what the hell was supposed to think about that, though at least the broken look had gone.

”Rogers, are you blushing?”

”What'd we do in London?” Logan asked, ignoring Stark completely, just as Rogers seemed to do, too. He liked the guy more by the second.

”We – uh. I was planning raids and you were having some down time. And we met in a bar. And talked.”

”I bet we did,” Logan grinned. Yeah, definitely a blush. Well. This was turning out to be fun.

”Oh my God. You talked in a pub over 70 years ago and this guy remembers your smell?” Stark started to sound ridiculous.

Logan sniffed the air, making a bit of a show out of it. ”What can I say? It's a good smell.”

Steve was mostly avoiding looking at either one of them, though he glanced at Logan a few times.

”Am I to understand our spangly Captain had an illicit affair with a – a, well, a weasel?”

Logan turned to Stark, baring his teeth.

Stark raised his hands defensively. ”Hey, you're the one calling yourself Wolverine, don't take it out on me.”

Rogers cleared his throat. ”I don't think that's any of your business.”

Since that was as good as admitting it was true, Stark looked almost shocked for a second, like he hadn't really believed it before. ”Huh,” he said then. ”Well, he's probably an animal in the sack. Well done, Cap.”

”Could you leave?” Rogers asked looking strained.

Stark looked like he wanted to really much stay there and be a nuisance, but miracle of miracles, turned to leave. ”Just don't mess up the place.”

The door opened and closed, they both standing facing each other. Now that Logan had gotten himself mixed up in the sweaty mess Cap represented, he had no thoughts what to do next.
Well, that wasn't exactly true, but he wasn't sure Rogers was up to whatever it was they had done during the war.

”I have no idea what to say to you,” Rogers said at last.

”Right. Stark said you were relieving some stress here.”

Rogers grimaced. ”Oh, yeah. I – uh, I get bad days sometimes.”

”Need some comfort?”

Rogers's hand stopped on the way to get his hair out of his eye. ”You mean – ?”

”Look, kid,” Logan said, not missing how Rogers's mouth twiched at the name, ”I don't remember you or what we did, and I don't really care that much since it's lost to me forever. You seem like a decent guy, so if you want to get off, well, I'm not in a hurry.”

Rogers chuckled. ”I know you don't want to hear this, but that was pretty much what you said to me last time.”

Logan grinned. ”Did it work?”

”Does it work now?”

”Let's go to my room.”

”I wasn't lying when I said you smelled good,” Logan said against Steve's inner thigh.

Steve laughed. ”I've been sweating for hours.”

”I know.” Logan licked his way up to Steve's hip.

”Hell,” Steve groaned and pulled Logan up by his neck. While he went quite voluntarily, it didn't escape him how Steve could have probably done it even without his cooperation. He kissed Steve hard, making a place for himself between Steve's thighs.

Steve put his arms around him and pulled him close. Logan broke the kiss and breathed harshly against Steve's throat when they thrusted against each other, hips moving in an agonizingly slow rhythm.

”Turn around,” Logan said as he sat back.

Steve opened his eyes, his pupils blown wide, and after a pause complied.

”Don't got anything,” he said.

”Don't need anything,” Logan answered. With Steve's ass presented to him he felt slight regret they weren't going to fuck, but not for long. On his knees between Steve's legs he leaned down to press his lips to Steve's lower back. He moved on even lower, letting his teeth catch on the skin of Steve's cheeks.

”Uh, honestly, we could continue this in a shower – ”

Logan swiped his tongue along Steve's crack to silence him. He liked the smell of sweat, liked it so much better than some artificial fragrances. He really liked Steve's sweat mixed with his musk.

”Or not,” Steve said before groaning and hiding his face in the crook of his arm when Logan parted his cheeks and buried his face between them.

Later, after coming on Steve's ass and again on their stomachs, Logan was dozing off with Steve already asleep next to him. He had no idea if the sex had helped Steve. Most likely not, but at least his mood had lifted for the moment.

He sleepily wondered if he should silently leave and avoid the awkwardness of the morning after, but decided against it. Mostly because he was far too comfortable, but also because what he especially liked about Steve's smell was the feeling of security it gave him.

Boy scout or not (and seeing what they'd done the past hour, Logan was going to go with the latter) as team leaders went, Steve was one he wouldn't mind following.
