I have a system that's probably completely idiosyncratic, but it's based on commix style to a certain extent.

The main language is just plain, whether it's English or Russian or whatever; a fic set in the Red Room would just have everything in English "translation". When I want to emphasize that the characters are speaking some other language that they understand, it goes in <angle brackets>. Languages the viewpoint character doesn't understand are in their native alphabet (or other writing system) and italicized if available.

Of course this can all go out the window for effect; Bucky speaks Russian just fine by Civil War but I'd still put the trigger words in Cyrillic, e.g. :)

(Aren't Russian nicknames awesome? They're the best.)
