Public Opinion - Winter Soldier

(Anonymous) 2014-06-02 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Everything on SHIELD/HYDRA was uploaded on the internet and made available to the world. This includes all the files on the Winter Soldier - skill sets, mission statements, how he was conditioned and had his memory wiped, maybe some footage for reference. And, of course, his original identity.

So, what's the public's reaction to this? To a national hero essentially being a Prisoner of War for seventy years and being turned into an assassin?

Bucky Barnes/Heinz Kruger, Sharing Body Heat

(Anonymous) 2014-06-02 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Because Rule 34 has failed me when I didn't know I needed it most.

Because, on the balance of things, a fatal dose of cyanide (and an autopsy) isn't all that serious an injury when Marvel's concerned?

Because HYDRA keep their freezers well-stocked?

Because brainwashed ultimate assassins are very moreish and Zola could've whipped up more than one batch?

Because cryogenic stasis is rough. And brainwashed ultimate assassins who're thawed out together should really warm-up together. Nakedly.

Because I would read ANYTHING for this pairing. ANY-THING.

Bucky/Steve - When forgetting is a blessing

(Anonymous) 2014-06-02 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen lot of fic where Steve is gutted that Bucky has huge holes in his memories, so I'd like kind of a reversal where Steve thinks that it might actually be for the best because their childhood + teenage and adult years weren't that great :

Steve was always sick which stressed out both of them;
They both had to find jobs as soon as they could because their families were poor so they didn't have much of a childhood;
They always got beat up;
WWII in general was pretty messed up (they saw some terrible stuff with HYDRA)
...

He already have to live with those memories, he doesn't want Bucky to have to live with them just because they're experiences they shared together. For Steve it's more than enough that Bucky still feel like he's the most important person in the world.

Bucky/Steve, No Filter

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Bucky still hasn't gotten used to social norms. So whenever something dirty about Steve pops into his mind he casually tells Steve about it. This means that Bucky will just tell Steve everything he wants to do to him in front of the Avengers like it's no big deal.

Bucky/Steve, The monster your parents warned you about

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The kids of Brooklyn had always been taught to come home early and listen to your parents or the Winter Soldier will get you. It's been a legend passed down from generation to generation with some parents having terrible stories about the loss of their children. A young Steve Rodgers never really believed in that kind of stuff until one night he has an asthma attack and his bullies leave him to die in an ally. It isn't long until he's no longer alone. The Winter Soldier saves him and mentions that he's decided to keep Steve instead of killing him. However before anything can happen Steve's mom shows up and rescues him.

Years later they meet again.

Crossover Amazing Spiderman2/Cap2 Bucky+Peter sibling relationship

[personal profile] twinkats 2014-06-04 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Got the idea from an adorable tumblr post and it won't leave me alone. Someone please?

Bucky didn't run very far, but Steve thinks he did which is fine because the Winter Soldier even though he's more mentally machine than human knows how to blend in and hide among people. He's a ghost for a REASON.

So he does. He ends up in Peter Parker's section of New York during TAS2. Bucky doesn't interact with all the stuff going on, just sort of observes it from afar. He's too busy picking himself up and putting himself together to do anything. He does notice, though, when suddenly Spidey isn't around anymore and people are wondering what's up. Where's the hero?

Bucky starts wondering it too because Spiderman reminded him of someone: a skinny little punk who didn't know when to give up. So Bucky starts looking into things, starts trying to figure stuff out. He pieces it together all too quickly and the truth, well, it hurts in ways that it reminds him too much of the shit he and Steve went through.

He's a bit more Bucky by this point but still greatly Winter Soldier.

Bucky ends up standing outside where Peter lives more than once. Enough that Peter notices (Bucky isn't really trying to hide all that much) but not once does he approach or try to talk. He's a bit terrified, maybe, or a bit something. Eventually, as months pass, Peter takes up the mask again and goes out.

He knows he's got some sort of shadow following him around, his spidey sense is tingling like mad but it's not registering a threat just...more like an annoyance, really. Peter doesn't put two and two together until Bucky saves his life, dressed up in his Winter Soldier closed and face a blank, unreadable mask.

Peter gets the berating of his LIFE from Bucky, who had just enough of all these stupid risks Peter was taking.

"If you get shot in the head you sure as hell won't get back up!"

"What if you broke a rib and something worse comes along? Quick healing factor or no you're gonna get yourself killed kid!"

"Fucking hell I KNOW you saw it coming your way. I saw you tense, why didn't you fucking DODGE?"

And all other harsh words, ending with, "People like you are so fucking important to this world, don't waste it by being reckless. You want to protect these people you gotta play it smart, kid."

And Peter is just all completely confused (so he snarks back, its a defense mechanism he can't help it) and a bit terrified but also touched. He's not had anyone really CARE aside from Gwen (and look how that turned out) and this stranger cares.

Bucky leaves, but Peter demands a name from him and Bucky isn't sure what made him do it but he gives his real name, not the Winter Soldier handle (even though he's dressed like) it says his name is Bucky, and he can't watch another punk go and get themselves killed because of some asinine need to stop all of the bullies in the world.

Peter snarks that this isn't highschool and Bucky snarks right back of it seems like it to him and they sort of become friends. Every time he's out patroling Peter catches a glimpse of Bucky and he feels a bit comforted, a bit confused, and a bit pissed off. Then there's the guy who ends up outside his house every now and then just staring and not doing ANYTHING and yeah.

Eventually Peter gets the full story out of Bucky, they talk, and they become sort of like older brother younger brother. Bucky gives Peter a few pointers and things happen. Then Peter's pushing Bucky just to go back to his Steve and Bucky's reluctant because then Peter would be all alone and Peter's like, "Nah, I know you got my back." so Bucky hunts down Steve and they have a happy reunion.

Peter's up on a roof watching and pretending he's not crying and cracking jokes to himself because god its corny and beautiful. He's pretty sure he'll never see Bucky again though because how can a little brother compete with the love of your life? Except the next day when he's out on patrol Bucky is there.

....yeah. Feels fest. Wheeee.

tl:dr
- Bucky is good at hiding because he's a fucking ghost, so Steve doesn't find him.
- He heads to Peter Parker's neck of the woods during TAS2 while getting his head on straight
- Notices absence of Spiderman and grows curious, discovers Peter Parker
- Doesn't interaction for ~reasons~ Peter notices the weird guy watching his house
- Eventually Peter takes up Spiderman again and Bucky starts shadowing him, Peter notices (but can't find the shadow and its ANNOYING)
- Eventually Bucky saves Peter's life and berates him for being reckless (but knows he can't stop Peter because ITS LIKE ITS STEVE ALL OVER AGAIN)
- They building up a sibling bond
- Peter convinces Bucky to go back to Steve (it's obvious he loves Steve, come on)
- Peter doesn't expect to ever see Bucky again, except he's there the next day shadowing Peter and it's a comfort BECAUSE THEY'RE BROS

Reckless!Steve

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Bucky never could keep Steve's addiction to adrenaline and hopeless odds in check, but he could at least watch his back. However, a slowly recovering Bucky has no place beside him on these strange new battlefields, and Steve is just as reckless as his ever was, only now there's no sharp eyed sniper to protect him. As is becomes more apparent that the Bucky Steve remembers might never be coming back, he gets worse; his plan to storm the HYDRA headquarters single-handedly starts to look tame in comparison to the stunts he pulls as a favor to Fury, or Natasha, or Hill.
His friends are concerned, but it takes Bucky, laced with the Winter Solider's brutal intensity, to finally get it through his thick skull that if Steve gets himself killed, /Bucky will kill him./

Gen. or Steve/Bucky - Post CATWS Angst

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
There's plenty of Post-CATWS fics where the Winter Soldier decides that Bucky's dead and that he's now Yasha/James and usually Steve is okay with it.

I'd like a fic where no matter how much Steve want to be okay with it he can't do it. For Steve, his best friend(/lover?) died in front of him not even 2 years ago and 2 weeks late he lost everything else. He's only starting to feel a little better but he's still grieving and seeing someone who look so much like Bucky but isn't ? It actively hurt him.
Of course because he's Steve, he tries to hide how much the situation hurt him and focus and helping Yasha/James. But eventually it become clear to one of his friend (probably Sam) that something's wrong and they confront Steve.

A bucketload of angst is what I'm asking - but I'm not against happy endings : maybe this was just a transitional phrase for Bucky ? or maybe it wasn't but after being confronted Steve went on a vacation, took the time to grieve and heal, and now he's able to be okay with Yasha/James because he found other people to rely on (like Sam)?

Takeoff on The Wizard, gen/pairings optional

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The 1989 movie with Fred Savage (more info on IMDB).

Winter Soldier finds a photograph of Steve and Bucky in Brooklyn. It triggers more vague memories and he runs away to find the place in the picture.

Someone else goes after him hoping to get reward money for bringing him in. Someone like Nick Fury or Maria Hill is chasing *that* guy and they keep having over the top ridiculous run ins with each other. Steve and Natasha catch up with Winter Soldier and try to protect him. There are wacky 80s movie hijinks and blatant product placement.

Winter Soldier and Natasha being really really good at 80s video games turns out to be a major plot point.

Winter Soldier only ever says his own version of the little brother's one line.

Pierce/Bucky or Rumlow/Bucky Bladder Desperation

Literally. Anything involving this. All the squirming and shame and whimpering. And humiliation.

Any setting and any combination of Pierce, Rumlow, Rollins, and Bucky. I like it all.

Maybe they're on a mission and they know if they command the asset to keep drinking past what's comfortable, he'll do it? Maybe he just never realizes his own physical needs until it's too late? Pierce gets off on not letting the asset have relief until the wipe forces it from him? DO NOT CARE.

Whether there is actually wetting or not is up to you, it's the desperation and eventual relief I'm after.

Steve/Bucky, Bucky is somehow Ianto and Jack's lovechild?

I saw that post on tumblr (http://torchwood-teaboy.tumblr.com/post/84608704461/consulting-eye-candy-jerkbitchidjitassbutt)and now I'm craving a fic where Bucky's not really an orphan, he's just been lost in time.

Cap is a passing as white POC

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve Rogers wasn't going to get into the Army with his health, let alone with his racial heritage. He was already lying about all sorts of stuff on his forms, what was one more thing?
Either Steve back then, thinking about it, or Steve now, wondering whether to tell anyone, or thinking about the heritage he lost by passing for white.

Crossover - Steve Rogers wasn't exactly one of a kind

(Anonymous) 2014-06-06 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Reprompt from Marvel_CineKink, hope that's alright?

History is written by the record keepers. And sometimes, the record keepers don't exactly keep everything on record.

According to record, Steve Rogers was the first, and only, super soldier of his time. According to record, it was the Nazis who were experimenting with twins and multiples, and their unique mental connections.

So, people are understandably confused when one of the first things Steve asks when he wakes up is "Where's my brother?"

OR: That one where Steve had a twin (other Chris Evans movie of your choice) who was also apart of the Super Serum project and it created/enhanced a telepathic connection between them. When Steve ends up in the ice, the twin entered a strange stable coma, never waking and never aging.

SHIELD and/or Hydra kept the twin's existence a secret, changing the records and silencing anyone who knew, and utilized them as a test subject.

Howling Commandos + Winter Soldier and Captain America

(Anonymous) 2014-06-07 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
The Howling Commandos (including Steve and Bucky) are partaking of one of their normal missions- explosions, destroyed HYDRA tech, sheer chaos, you know, the usual- when a man dressed all in black, with a black face mask and a metal hand appears and calmly picks off three hidden HYDRA soldiers. A second man, also in black, also masked, with a shield almost exactly like Steve's, but painted black, appears as well and helps take out the rest of the HYDRA goons.

Then they disappear just as quickly as they appeared. The Commandos are left scratching their heads.

Then it happens again on the next mission. And the next. On the fourth, the man with the metal arm loses his mask.

What happens next, and why the future Bucky and Steve are helping out in the 1940s is up to you. (Maybe HYDRA decided to go back in time to kill Steve and Bucky before they destroy HYDRA?)

(I kinda want to see the future two talking to the past two about wasted chances, though.)

Steve & Sam, (Steve/Tony) Steve and Same get bodyswapped

(Anonymous) 2014-06-07 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve and Sam get their bodies swapped and are stuck like that, unable to find a way to get their own body back. They need to learn coping, for the time being anyway, and decide who needs to know and who don't.

Also, Steve wanted to ask Tony out for a dinner for a while, this complicates the matters.

I'd also would like for Sam enjoying "his" new super-enhanced body, Steve teaching its limits. And Steve having fun flying with Sam's "wings" and how he learn adapting to Sam's body too.

No switch back, and eventual Steve/Tony would be also lovely.

+ Bonus for Avengers (and Sam) needing to team up for a mission, and their team mates didn't learn about the switch yet, while Sam and Steve still hadn't decided who tell about the switch to.

Steve/Bucky or Gen, the Winter Solider adopts Peter

(Anonymous) 2014-06-07 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's mess with timelines and say little Peter Parker (around age 12) lost his aunt and uncle (due to some alien attack (Loki?), Doombots, Hydra - but not as main targets? or something) - being in the wrong place at the wrong time, the Winter Solider finds him.
Instead of killing the kid, or leaving there, the WS takes little Peter with him.
WS (or Bucky with minimal memories) actually dotes on Peter, spoils him in any way he can think of. Bonus for Peter getting a brand new, shiny assasin rifle for his birthday.

Double bonus if there is teenage!Peter going through normal highschool - and how he manages to fit in, after having the WS for a dad.

Thriple bonus and all the cookies for a happy Bucky/Steve endgame.

Steve/Bucky, Inception AU

(Anonymous) 2014-06-07 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Even the Winter Soldier dreams sometime. He may not remember them, but that doesn't mean they don't happen. So to trigger his memories of being Bucky Barnes, Steve and Co. go into his dreams Inception-style to unlock his buried memory of Steve Rogers and everything HYDRA took.

Winter Soldier/other, possible dub-con

(Anonymous) 2014-06-08 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Hydra is rounding up adolescent mutants in hopes of turning them into weapons and captures a young telekinetic who also possesses (unknown to Hydra) budding telepathic powers.  She manages to escape once but is recaptured by the Winter Soldier as he and his metal arm are too strong for her to overpower.  He then becomes her personal security detail as whoever's in charge (Aleksander Lukin?) takes an unsavory interest in her and decides she's too important to let escape again.

During the course of her experimentation/torture, she peeks in the Winter Soldier's mind and is unsettled by what she finds.

"Please...they're making you do this...you don't have to do this..."

He's so susceptible to being brainwashed that she finds she can control him without even really knowing what she's doing.  She uses him to escape, maybe take a little revenge on the way out.  But before she leaves...

"I wonder how long I could control you.  You could be my bodyguard.  My own personal attack dog.  I wonder if I could make you love me."

Too much guilt over the mind control to continue?  Too blinded by her own power/desire to be loved/taken care of to stop?  Up to anon!

Also up to anon: if you can work in an existing mutant character, that would be cool.  If this takes place in the past and that mutant becomes a future Avenger, that would also be cool.  :D

Steve/Bucky/Natasha

(Anonymous) 2014-06-08 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve wants a dog but Natasha gets him a Bucky instead.  And he is so very eager to please his new masters.

+ super sweet, loving owner!Steve. Lets him have table scraps (delicious steak) and watch TV when Natasha isn't around.
+ femdom!Natasha.  Verbal abuse, humiliation, pain play.  Uses her stingers for obedience training.
+ Natasha insisting Bucky wear a collar at all times and dragging him around by it.
+ Steve always taking it off and scritching his neck.
+ bonus points if Steve always bathes him/takes care of him after Natasha's done with him

Snot/Sneezing kink, CNTW

(Anonymous) 2014-06-08 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Can I see some Steve/Bucky with this...? Like, maybe after Bucky's rescued and reconditioned, because his serum is bastardized and such, he falls ill. And, because he didn't really remember a lot of the smaller things, he's surprised when Steve nearly pounces on him. Needless to say, he's kind of grossed out ('Snot, Steve, really?') and so there's some poor communication, and lots of shame on Steve's part.

Eventually, though, they fuck with lots of snotty/sneezy (because Steve's introduced him to induced sneezing, and he kind of wished he'd said something earlier, when he'd had a stuck sneeze that morning) foreplay and yeah.

Bonus points if:

-Snot gets used as lube
-There's nose/snot licking
-Steve's just really a horny wreck that can't control himself
-And the snot is accurately described (ie is discolored and thick because he's sick)

Steve/Bucky, the one who came home isn't the one who left

Jumping off of this prompt/fill: http://archiveofourown.org/works/1428241

The Winter Soldier isn't Bucky, but Steve (and therefore SHIELD) desperately needs him to be. So SHIELD programs TWS to "remember" Steve and Steve laps it up. That's where the fic ends and its lovely, but I'd love to see one step further. What if Steve finally wised up/stopped lying to himself? I can't see him kicking a still damaged, semi-brainwashed ex-assassin out on the street, especially since the Soldier is enamored of Steve (because of the programming or because Steve's just so gosh-darn lovable). So how would Steve handle that?

I know there are a bunch of punk!AUs with these two going around but I'd like to see one where Bucky is really into the aesthetic and music side of the scene, while Steve is SUPER INTO the ideological aspect. Like, organizes protests and does a bunch of zines/blogs (depending on if this is period or modern) and such, maybe having an especial interest in queer and disability rights? And they support each other and their friends and basically I just want punk friends.

Any pairing except Steve/Natasha or Steve/Tony ok, Bucky-with-a-prosthetic preferred but not absolutely necessary, pre-serum!Steve a must

Bucky/Howard, Steve/Bucky, Steve/Bucky/Howard

prep/private/boarding school AU
(WHATEVER FANCY SCHMANCY BOYS ONLY SCHOOL THEY'D BE ATTENDING AGE 18+)

It was a prestigious school, very difficult to get into, and a proper education was something Howard had always wanted for himself, but he couldn't help feeling like he was being sent away, punished for the crime of existing and reminding his father too much of his mother after her death.

Even after managing to get into three separate science courses at a school who valued history and literature (yawn) above all else, Howard is still determined his life will be miserable. That is, until he meets his lab partner, James "Call me Bucky because James is my father's name and fuck him" Barnes and becomes instantly infatuated. His wide, ocean-blue eyes, perpetual perfect pout, and wicked sense of humor are more than enough to make up for the fact that he "hates all this science crap" and violates the sanctity of the lab by lighting his cigarettes on the Bunsen burner.

He's achingly perfect, and so is his goddamn boyfriend. Steve "Future President of the Greatest Country in the World" Rogers and his perfect face, perfect physique, and perfect reputation who was captain of goddamn everything including the lacrosse team, debate team, and, somehow, the Multicultural Students Union, even though he was whiter than Wonder bread. Howard's more than ready to give up, because, fuck, he can't compete with that, but there's a mysterious little twinkle in Bucky's eye that gives him a shred of hope...

+ adorkable science prodigy Howard
+ charming bad boy Bucky
+ Steve ending every debate with "Son, just don't." haha
+ Bucky being SUPER into rimming (THIS IS INTEGRAL TO THE PLOT AND TBH THAT TONGUE IS MADE FOR IT)
+ eventual glorious three-way(s)

P.S. Can you believe I had this idea first THEN saw pictures of Dominic Cooper from The History Boys? The internet never fails me.

Steve/Sam - Virgin!Steve keeps being cockblocked

cross-posted at avengerkink

So Steve's a virgin and everybody assume that it's because he doesn't know how to talk to women and/or he's a prude. Both of those things are untrue, firstly, he might be occasionally too serious but it doesn't mean that he doesn't want or know about sex. Secondly, although he's bisexual, Steve has a preference toward men. The only women thus far he had really wanted to be with was Peggy.

No, the real reason Steve is a virgin is because every times a man start to flirt with him, someone inevitably cock-block him :
- First there was Bucky, back in the 40s, who always interrupted when other men would show any interest because he was afraid that men wouldn't be careful enough during sex with his best friend and would hurt him physically (he's got other friends who like men, their horror story about sex injury are horrifying and he's not letting his baby brother get hurt).
- During the war, The Howling Commandos somehow (it's Bucky fault) learned that Steve was still a virgin and made sure any guys trying something with him knew how protective they were of their Captain, scaring the suitors in the process.
- Now -in the future/present- each of the Avengers seems to make it their mission to cockblock Steve for various reasons.

Natasha thinks of him as one of her best friend/little brother and is disproving of anyone flirting with him period - they're not good enough for him (post-TWS!Bucky is much the same as Natasha).
Thor isn't actually trying but still always manage to scare Steve's possible lovers away.
Clint and Tony seems to be doing it simply to annoy him from Steve POV but they are actually worried of Steve possible homophobic reaction and trying to prevent it.
Bruce is the one who's actually cockblocking Steve to troll him, cos he has a bet going with someone (Pepper?) to see how much it will take to make Steve snap.

Steve ends up complaining about the situation to Sam Wilson who finds this hilarious at first but then realizes that Steve is actually really upset about it. Mostly as a joke -trying to cheer his friend up- Sam propose to help Steve out with his virginity problem right now since there isn't any Avengers near by to cockblock him. He doesn't expect Steve to be so enthusiastic and practically jump on him but he certainly isn't going to complain ! Of course they end up dating (to the delight of Nat and Bucky who think that Sam is one of the rare person who is worthy of Steve).

Steve/any, "did you know you draw (deceased character) like a lover"

(Anonymous) 2014-06-11 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Steve can't help but draw the people and places that he's lost and someone (Sam, Natasha or Bruce would be my to choices but anyone's fine) looks over his shoulder as he's drawing and can't help noticing that he's drawing a 'friend' like a lover would, whether that's because they were lovers or he simply loved them like that is up to you. (Authors choice as to who he's drawing but I would prefer if it was someone from his past who wasn't Peggy or Bucky)
